All the bubble baths and cologne in the world won't resolve that smell! That smell is caused by what's happening on the inside! Which means, we can't wash it away from the outside! 🛁
That sweet dirty dog smell is actually caused by yeast! When a furry guy regularly eats an ultra-processed diet that is traditionally high in carbs, those carbs turn to sugar and yeast is just one of the nasty aliments that feeds on sugar. So that smell you smell is not a dirty dog, or a dirty coat, that smell is yeast! When our furry guys consume things their bodies can't process and continue to consume those things day after day, the body can no longer eliminate them and often times they start to seep through the skin. Yeast is the sickly, sweet smell on your furry guy and it's coming out from the inside which is why you can't just wash it away! 😳
The best way we can improve the overall health of our furry guys and actually get rid of that dirty dog stink is to feed a more biologically appropriate diet that includes more fresh, whole foods and less processed food! Providing 25% of their meal as a fresh option, while reducing the processed option will help significantly! Fresh doesn't have to mean raw, fresh can literally be fruits and veggies from your own kitchen! 😀
